3 Link Building Strategies for Big Brands in 2016

Link building is alive and well in 2016 despite many in the industry forecasting its inevitable demise. Recently, the great folks over at Moz released their 2015 Search Engine Ranking Factors Study, where they found data that showed some of the highest correlations between Google rankings and the number of links to a given page.

With backlinks still being relevant, it means that even big brands have to keep up with the times to stay on top of the competition.

Today, I’ll show you three ways that I build links for some of my bigger clients.

Scholarships (Getting the Coveted .EDU Links)

The idea here is to generate the highly coveted .EDU domain backlinks. Creating a scholarship is one of the best ways to do this. Whenever you’re building links, there’s an exchange. Digital assets such as infographics, videos, guest posts, and badges are usually used in an exchange for a link on someone else’s website (creating something of value).
